What is a Physiotherapist?
A Physiotherapist is an expert in diagnosing and treating conditions of the musculoskeletal system (bone, joints and muscles) and sports injuries. All the Alpha Physiotherapists have a minimum of a BSc Hons degree and have taken extensive post-graduate training to work at the level they do.
Do I need a referral from my GP to see you?
No - you can self-refer to us without seeing your GP or Consultant. You can enquire about cost and availbility here.
What should I bring?
Any medical reports or information that is relevant to your complaint.
What should I wear?
We will need to expose the area of the problem for us to assess it properly. If you are coming for a leg or lower back problem, please bring shorts to wear. For females with an upper back or arm/shoulder problem, please consider wearing a sports bra or a vest top.
Does my child need an adult present?
We request that any child under the age of 16 always has an adult present.
Please see the note above relating to appropriate clothing as this will apply to children also.
Do you accept card payments?
Yes we do! We can also take payment by cash or BACS transfer.
Can I use my private health insurance?
We ask all of our clients to pay upfront for their sessions and will be happy to provide the necessary receipts / invoices for you to pass onto your insurance company.
What are your opening hours?
We work flexible hours – please contact us if you wish to speak to us.
What happens if I can’t make my booked appointment?
Please call us as soon as you know you can’t make an appointment. If you cancel an appointment with more than 24 hours’ notice, no charge will be made. However, for missed appointments and those cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, you will be charged the full appointment fee.
