Lucy Turmel, Professional Squash player, has joined the Alpha Physiotherapy team as a sponsored professional athlete.
Lucy Turmel competes on the PSA World Tour, and is currently ranked 36 in the women’s world rankings. Lucy who is from Ipswich, Suffolk, had an incredibly successful Junior career where Lucy was a 4 time English Junior Champion (2 x under 17, 2 x under 19), and a 4 time British Junior champion (2 x under 17, 2 x under 19). She was also runner up in the final of the English championships under 15 twice. Lucy also went on to represent Team England.
Lucy became European Junior Champion, and achieved a bronze medal in the World Junior Championships.
With this success Lucy was able to springboard into the Seniors. In 2019 Lucy won the Springfield Scottish Open, and progressed up the world rankings to 36 through competing in the PSA World Tour – which see Lucy travelling on the World stage.
Whilst the COVID19 pandemic has postponed the PSA World Tour for now, Lucy has been working incredibly hard to ensure she is ready for when competitions restart.
Lucy joins the Alpha Physiotherapy team as a sponsored athlete which sees Alpha being responsible for her medical and Physiotherapy needs, allowing her to prepare and recover to the highest level. Lucy says:
